Pope Francis designated the Jubilee 2025 theme as Pilgrims of Hope, setting forth his desire that our participation in the Jubilee as follows:

- for each of us to experience an encounter with Jesus Christ through pilgrimage to sacred places and in meeting the poor, sick, and vulnerable that we are called to serve.
Jubilee 2025 opened on Sunday, December 29, 2024, and will conclude with the closing of the Holy Door in the Papal Basilica of Saint Peter in the Vatican on January 6, 2026, the Solemnity of the Epiphany of the Lord.
